Despite the enthusiasm for electric mobility, the figures remind us that the transition remains timid. In 2023, fully electric vehicles will represent only 3.2% of all passenger cars on the road. For comparison, non-plug-in hybrid cars reach 6%, almost double that of electric vehicles. As for thermal cars, they still form the overwhelming majority of the vehicle fleet. This interactive map, above, allows you to explore the share of electric cars by municipality, revealing contrasts between Swiss regions.
