While TCL and Hisense have recently come to compete with The Frame, Samsung is stepping up to the front to avoid losing the market for TVs serving as works of art, which it actually created from scratch in 2017. CES 2025 was also an opportunity for the South Korean firm to stand out with a new high-end model simply named The Frame Pro.

There are several advantages compared to standard models. First of all, the display evolves with the transition to a QLED screen equipped with Mini-Led backlighting (Neo QLED in Samsung language). To put it simply, this technology provides better image quality, with increased contrast and brightness.

Important point highlighted by The Verge, the entire screen does not benefit from this new feature: “Samsung places Mini-LEDs along the bottom of the screen, while claiming that this approach still produces a certain level of local dimming”. It remains to be seen what this will look like in reality.

The second change happens at the level of fluidity. In fact, the refresh rate goes from 120 to 144 Hz, a notable improvement which should appeal to PC gamers. Moreover, connectivity is simplified on The Frame Pro thanks to a remote box: Wireless One Connect.

Supporting wifi 7, the latter allows you to retransmit streams from devices connected to it (console, PC, decoder, hi-fi system, Blu-Ray player, etc.) on the , and therefore eliminate cables. All that will remain is to hide the power cord so that the television blends into the decor.

The The Frame Pro is then entitled to the new NQ4 Gen3 AI Processor chip, offering artificial intelligence capabilities thanks to the newly announced suite of tools: Vision AI. This ranges from real-time translation to the display of dish recipes displayed on the screen, as well as real-time information on one's connected home and a search system similar to Surround to search on a smartphone (Click to Search).

Regarding the price and release date of The Frame Pro, Samsung remains silent. The brand only emphasizes that information on this subject will be announced during spring 2025. Note, we know for the moment that this new model will be available in 65, 75 and 85 inches, while the non-Pro The Frame of 2025 will be limited to at 32, 43, 50, 55 and 65 inches.
