The year 2025 is starting in the most beautiful way for police officers from the Lagny-Chessy urban police station. During a simple road control operation organized in Chalifert on Thursday January 2, 2025, they made a nice catch with the arrest of an “Uber-shit”, a drug deliveryman.
It was 4:30 p.m. that day when the police saw an Audi car that seemed suspicious. The driver is apprehended, and first surprise, he immediately confesses no longer have a license. And, as is the procedure, the car being parked in the middle of the road and the driver not having a driving license, it was one of the police officers who was responsible for bringing the vehicle to safety.
A suspicious smell
During the maneuver, the policewoman notices a strong smell of cannabis in the passenger compartment. Except that after some research, “nothing was visible inside” a police source tells us. An officer of the judicial police is then immediately called to conduct a search of the car which is insured in the name of the driver's mother.
And there it is, the jackpot. Under the wheel, hidden are numerous samples of several types of drugs. The search of the car indeed allowed the police to seize 92 g of cannabis resin44 g d’herbe, 13 g of cocaine10 g of ecstasy and 10 g of ketamine (anesthetic), as well as 12 g of 3M™ and 5g of methamphetamine (synthetic drugs).
What put us on the trail of a drug deliveryman was the multiplicity of drugs he had in his possession.
110 euros in cash were also found in his hiding place.
Tried in immediate appearance
Placed in police custody then in pre-trial detention at the Meaux-Chauconin prisonthe accused was judged in immediate appearance before the Meaux court this Monday January 6, 2025.
The man, aged 25, appeared to have six convictions for driving without a license or drug trafficking and had already been sentenced to suspended sentence. At his hearing, he admitted to being a drug deliveryman but refused to give the name of the person who supplied them.
Finally, he received 38 months in prison and his mother's Audi A3 was seized.
What is an Uber-shit?
The practice of home delivery of drugs, called Uber-shit in reference to the couriers of meal delivery platforms, exploded during confinement and is gaining more and more ground. “Little hands” recruited by dealers use cars, bicycles, scooters, but also increasingly scooters, which makes it possible to outrun the police.
Consumers use encrypted messaging services like WhatsApp, Snapchat and Telegram to find sellers. Indeed, with one click, it is possible to access numerous groups that offer home deliveries, 24/7. To attract customers, sellers use well-known online sales codes: photos of products, after-sales service with customer reviews and even promotions.
