Enjoy doing a good deed? This year, the Le RECHO Association and pastry chef Muriel Aublet-Cuvelier are joining forces in favor of refugees to offer a gourmet Galette des Rois 2025, available from January 6 to 31, 2025.
The month of January opens with a great gourmet and solidarity initiative. I REQUEST YOUan association dedicated to the social inclusion of refugees in France, joins forces with the talented Muriel Aublet-Cuvelier to offer its very first king cake. Imagined by Muriel and carefully designed by a team of refugee cooks in integration, this pastry creation should melt you, both with its taste and its deep meaning.
The cake reveals a fondant puff pastry and one scented frangipane with lavender honey, orange, lemon and candied melon, reminiscent of the sweet aromas of calisson. A delicate and comforting dessert, perfect for celebrating Epiphany while supporting a noble cause: all profits from the sale are donated to the association.
But that's not all. Each cake hides an original bean designed by the ceramist Sophie from the Workshop on Earthbased in Montreuil. Hand-engraved, these unique beans add a touch of authenticity to this cake. And for the lucky ones who find a bean marked with a little red heart? A snack for two people at BAL Café by Le RECHOnestled in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, will be offered to them.
This solidarity cake is available in a format of 6 to 8 slices at the price of €35. You can collect it by click & collect at one of the two collection points:
- Paris 18th : Le BAL Café by Le RECHO, 6 impasse de la Défense, Wednesdays and Fridays between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
- Issy-les-Moulineaux : La Table du RECHO, 62 rue Camille Desmoulins, Wednesdays and Fridays between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
The initiative is supported by Muriel Aublet-Cuvelierrecognized pastry chef and godmother of the association. A graduate of the Ferrandi School, she has been sharing her expertise for years through pastry creations and solidarity projects.
