Between March and April, the University of Liège conducted an internal mobility survey. It made it possible to collect more than 4,000 questionnaires and more than 700 comments making it possible to update the data on travel modes to reach the campuses of Arlon, Gembloux and Liège. In this information, which will also be used for the drafting of the ULiège mobility policy for the period 2025/2030, student mobility is notably analyzed.

Thus, mobility habits have changed little since 2021. The majority of their trips are made by public transport and the share of the bus continues to increase to reach 44% of trips to campus (compared to 41% in 2021). For the two areas of the Sart-Tilman campus, the percentages are 47% and even 51%. In the city center, they are 31%.
Travel between sites/campus during the day concerns 48% of students, 45% were concerned in 2021. 80% of participants in this survey (regular bus users or not) declare having subscribed to the subscription at €12/year put in place place by the TEC for 18/24 year olds“, also indicates the study.

33% of students say they always travel by car, 11% by train, 10% on foot and only 2% by bike or electric bike. Stable figures for 3 years. According to a Transitec study Parking study for the Sart-Tilman campus, carpooling is losing ground, going from 17% in 2018 to 8% in 2024, a drop of 9%.

Furthermore, micromobility (self-service scooters or personal vehicle) remains a marginal practice (0.15%) for reaching ULiège campuses.
