French swordsman Boladé Apithy announced his retirement this Saturday. He had been a bronze medalist in the saber team event at the Paris Olympic Games.
Fencer Boladé Apithy ended his career last Saturday. The 39-year-old athlete treated himself to one last signing and selfie session in his hometown of Dijon and confirmed the information on his Instagram account with a publication: “ 1991-2024, it’s the end of an adventure. A unique experience where I had the chance to travel around the world, surpass myself, give the best of myself and meet exceptional people. I bow out, I put away my weapons. Thanks everyone, I loved it!!!”

Three times French champion
Boladé Apithy, married to Manon Apithy-Brunet, Olympic saber champion in Paris, will have won a team bronze medal acquired during the last Games. He also won three French championship titles individually and three in teams, six medals at the European Championships and a World Cup title in Algiers in 2023.
