Storm Floriane in Île-de-: disruptions announced on the RER and Transilien

Due to the orange alert for “strong winds” issued by Météo on January 6, 2025, the SNCF announces possible disruptions in transport in the Ile-de-France region. After a yellow alert for snow and ice, Weather France place and the whole of Île-de-France in orange alert to “ strong winds » due to the storm Floriane. According to the meteorological service, this gale could hit the Ile-de-France region this Monday January 6, 2025 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., with strong gusts expected between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

« During the morning, the noticeable southwest wind will strengthen ahead of and with the passage of a relatively active rainy front. As it passes, gusts should reach 80 to 90 km/h, locally 100 to 110 km/h » warns Weather France.

Also, the SNCF announcement of possible disruptions in Ile-de-France transport and implementation of specific measures « aimed at guaranteeing the safety of travelers ».

« Following the announcement by Météo France of an orange “violent winds” alert in 21 departments including the Iles de France region, due to storm Floriane, measures aimed at guaranteeing the safety of travelers, trains and SNCF agents were decided » for this Monday, January 6, announces the SNCF.

In detail, these measures include “ stop circulation », « that is to say the preventive stopping of rail traffic on certain lines ” of RER and Transilienexplains SNCF. Objective ? Prevent trains with passengers on board from being blocked on the rails due to possible falling trees.

SO, which RER and Transilien lines are affected by these “ stop circulation » ? On the RER network, lines C and D are impacted. While traffic will be interrupted on the RER C between Brétigny and Saint-Martin d'Étampes, as well as between Brétigny and Dourdan, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., trains will be stopped on the RER line D between Corbeil and Malesherbes/ from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

On the network Transilien, 8 lines will be affected, namely lines J, K, L, N, P, R, U and V.

RER lines affected by “stop-traffic” for at least part of the day

  • RER C : interrupted line between Brétigny and Saint-Martin d'Étampes, as well as between Brétigny and Dourdan from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • RER D : interrupted line between Corbeil and Malesherbes/Melun from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Transilien lines affected by “traffic stoppages” for at least part of the day

  • Line V : interrupted from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • U line : interrupted between Chantiers and La Défense from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • R line : interrupted between Melun and Montereau / Montargis from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Line J : interrupted between and Gisors from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • K Line : interrupted between Paris and Crépy-en-Valois from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Line L : interrupted between Saint-Cloud and Saint-Nom la Bretèche and between Saint-Cloud and Versailles Rive Droite from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • Line N : interrupted between Grignon and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and between La Verrière and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Line P : interrupted between La Ferté-Milon and , between Esbly and Crécy La Chapelle, between La Ferté-Milon and Meaux and between Coulommiers and Tournan from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Note that the Tramway line T12 is also affected by this measure. Line T12 will be completely interrupted from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Also, the SNCF recommends that travelers check train schedules for upcoming departures in order to get to the station.
