It’s a tradition that continues. At the start of the year, you will inevitably receive some in your mailbox. Despite the rise of new technologies, greeting cards are still as popular as ever. In the Hautes-Alpes, in Embrun, the publishing house “La Girouette” manufactures pop-up cards, but also Advent calendars and frames.
In the Embrunais workshop, there are collections of cards for all life events: baptisms, weddings, birthdays or even New Years.
Here, the paper is worked with laser cutting machines, the cards are assembled by hand in Caroline Hebisch's workshop. After launching her activity in the Bouches du Rhône, the director and creator of the company “La Girouette” decided to return to settle in the Hautes-Alpes during the COVID 19 crisis. A return to the roots for the entrepreneur from Briançon.

In the Embrun workshop, high-end products are created with an eco-responsible design.
“Here in Embrun, we laser cut, fold and glue by hand. On the editions which are printed in Grenoble, we use an ISO 140001 printer, which means that it is truly ecological. The paper is also high quality »
“La Girouette” also offers religious decorative objects. They are made in Italy. According to the publishing house, the creations can be found in more than 500 points of sale such as the Strasbourg Cathedral or the Fourvière Basilica in Lyon. “La Girouette” which is also exported to Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland.
