Gendarmes and firefighters were mobilized, on Saturday January 4, 2025 from 4:40 p.m., to rescue the driver of a Renault Clio who had just lost control on departmental 5 in La Mothe-Saint-Héray, in the south of Deux-Sèvres: the car had finished its journey below the road, in a field.
This 41-year-old resident of Échiré had to be extricated from the passenger compartment of the car by firefighters.
Transported to hospital under good escort
Once out of the woods, the forty-year-old showed himself “very virulent” against the soldiers of the Saint-Maixent-l'École brigade: he notably refused to submit to an alcohol test.
The injured motorist finally accepted the principle of a blood test to measure his level: he was then transferred by the firefighters to the Niort hospital center. A transport escorted by the gendarmerie.
