Thiès, January 5 (APS) – The Minister of the Interior and Public Security, Jean Baptiste Tine, welcomed, in Thiès (west), the implementation, across the country, of the renewed formula of the Army-Nation concept, which materialized during the eighth edition of the “Setal Sunu Reew” health day. , SATURDAY.
“I would like to congratulate myself once again on the maintenance and strengthening of the renewed Army-Nation concept, which we are currently deploying in our country,” added Jean Baptiste Tine.
The minister chaired the launch, in Thiès, of the eighth national cleaning day at the Docteur Mamadou Bathily Health Center in Thiès.
”This concept, which dates from independence, has brought a lot of satisfaction to the country,” he rejoiced. “By giving it a new scope, we want to enrich it with contributions and innovative approaches which will give new impetus to this concept. », added General Tine.
He also welcomed “the great citizen mobilization that we are seeing here”, in Thiès, underlining the “very strong symbolic significance” of the image of the populations and the defense and security forces, “brought together under the same banner to carry out civic health activities”.
The organization of the eighth day of human investment through clean-up activities, under the theme: “Setal sa gox, aar sa yaram”, alongside citizens, the armed forces are committed”, was entrusted to the Defense and security forces, who are working to clean up the city’s health structures, alongside the civilian populations.
The Minister of the Interior praised the leadership of the command of all defense and security forces around the commander of Military Zone number 7, which made it possible to carry out these activities “in such a beautiful way”.
The regional director of health (DRS) of Thiès, Mama Moussa Diaw, in turn, welcomed the priority choice made by the military authorities on health infrastructure.
Above all, he noted the long-standing collaboration between the army health services and other medical establishments.
As a prelude to this day, a blood donation was organized on Friday in Thiès, which made it possible to collect 107 bags of blood, which will be given to the blood bank of the Thiès Regional Hospital, said the DRS. from Thiès.
