In collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and international partners, the city recently hosted large-scale meetings, such as the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB), less than ten days after the earthquake which shook the Marrakech region.

For 2025, the city is preparing to host other major events, such as the African Book Festival and the African Cup of Nations, thus consolidating its role as a cultural and economic crossroads. The Government Tourism Project 2023-2026 plans to strengthen the integration of Marrakech into regional circuits, particularly with the neighboring provinces of Drâa-Tafilalet.
