As part of Setal Suñu Reew Day, the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, sent a solemn appeal to all Senegalese people to adopt responsible behavior in terms of cleanliness and environmental management. He insisted on the need for each citizen to preserve their living environment, stressing that public health is a collective responsibility.
The head of state also encouraged massive participation in the national competition rewarding the cleanest neighborhoods.
This initiative, according to him, aims to promote sustainable practices for a healthier and more pleasant Senegal to live in.
Speaking during the 8th edition of National Cleanup Day, organized this Saturday at the Comico city – Military construction cooperative, in the commune of Yeumbeul Nord (Dakar suburb), President Bassirou Diomaye Faye highlighted the importance of this event.
The ceremony, held at the Comico field, was attended by the Minister of the Armed Forces, General Birame Diop, as well as the administrative and territorial authorities of Dakar.
Placed under the theme “Setal sa gokh, aar sa yaaram: alongside citizens, the armed forces are committed”, this day benefited from a strong mobilization of defense and security forces, as well as members of their families .
The Setal Suñu Reew Day, organized for this eighth edition by the Ministry of the Armed Forces, embodies a dynamic of awareness and citizen mobilization to meet the challenges linked to hygiene and cleanliness.
President Bassirou Diomaye Faye recalled the importance of this collective commitment to build a Senegal where respect for the environment becomes a shared culture.
