Montpellier international second row Paul Willemse, convalescing since October 5 due to a concussion, has seen his shutdown extended for three more months, we learned on Tuesday from the Hérault club. Willemse, (32 years old, 32 caps), then started for the first time in six months, suffered a concussion on October 5 against Stade Français in contact with Paris' South African second row Juan John Van Der Mescht. Following this sixth concussion in less than a year, the French international of South African origin had already consulted Doctor Baugé who prescribed a three-month break.

Previously, Willemse returned to competition at the end of September, after an absence of more than five months. On April 7 in the round of 16 of the Challenge Cup against Ulster, he was sent off for a dangerous tackle and at the same time suffered his fifth concussion of the season. As a result, he had already observed three months of inactivity, on the recommendation of the medical staff. Willemse, who arrived in Hérault in 2015 from Grenoble, is under contract until next June in Montpellier.
