“Annoying” ice even in small quantities
Météo France, in its Saturday morning bulletin, indicates that “the disturbance associated with a lot of mild air will sweep the entire country in a southwest/northeast direction, this Saturday and the night from Saturday to Sunday. This disturbance will encounter a mass of cold air, causing snowfall and especially freezing rain for a few hours, while the mild air gains definitively. »
Snow and ice are expected in varying quantities but “ice, even in small quantities, can be particularly annoying for road traffic”, forecasters point out.
Vigilant until Sunday
Between Saturday and Sunday, the Territoire de Belfort must therefore expect “more persistent snowfall, which can reach up to 5 cm on the ground. Freezing rain then lasts between one and three hours and can cause traffic difficulties.” As with any similar episode, which is still common in winter, it is therefore advisable to only prioritize essential trips and avoid going out to avoid accidents. Météo France also advises, if traveling by road, to “take food and blankets”. At home, they recommend “installing generators outside the house and not using combustion heaters continuously”.
Orange vigilance, in the Territoire de Belfort, must begin this Saturday, January 4 at 4 p.m. and continue until Sunday morning.
