The National Professional Union of Opticians of Morocco estimated that Law 13.00 establishing the status of private professional training created legal loopholes and imbalances which exacerbated the crisis of opticians, through the random granting of authorizations to training establishments professional in the field of optometry and obtaining optician diplomas to practice the profession without taking into account supply and demand in certain regions.

He stressed the need for the government to intervene to modify this law, fight against the random granting of authorization to exercise the profession and protect the principle of supply and demand in Morocco in order to improve the quality of opticians’ services.
