This is some of the strangest weather forecast for the end of 2024. The month of December was indeed marked by fairly significant temperature variations as well as piercing sunshine between deluges of rain or snowfall. And it is indeed the snow that has been the talk of the town a lot lately. While many regions, including Ile-de- and even the capital – found themselves under a light white blanket, others have recently been hit by snow storms. This meteorological phenomenon hit Yonne, the Vosges and Burgundy, leaving residents stunned by a sudden fall. But the last days of December, between the 28th and 30th just before celebrating the transition to the year 2025, some departments experienced industrial snow.

The departments of , Rhône, Oise and Côte d'Or were the main affected by this astonishing industrial snow, which we rarely hear about in France. On Instagram, the Vakita media outlet reminded Internet users not to confuse industrial snow with artificial snow – the kind that is generally launched from cannons in ski resorts. Indeed, industrial snow does indeed represent a natural meteorological phenomenon, contrary to what its name might suggest.
