The SNCF Nomad Train network announced that Friday January 3, 2025at 1:45 p.m., via his X account (ex-Twitter), that a personal accident occurred in Valognes (Manche) on the railway line linking Paris Saint-Lazare to Cherbourg.
Several trains are deleted between the capital and Normandy, and retards are also to be expected.
Traffic resumption time estimated at 5 p.m.
At 2:29 p.m., the SNCF Nomad Train network indicates that the circulation East interrupted between Cherbourg and Lison (Calvados), in both directions, to allow the intervention of firefighters and the gendarmerie. The Civil Security helicopter Dragon 50 is present on site.
The perimeter of the station is cordoned off by SNCF agents and the Valognes municipal police.
The victim is alive
At 4:27 p.m., account X of the SNCF Nomad Train network informed that the victim East alive and was evacuated by emergency services. There circulation des trains however did not not yet back on the linepending “final technical safety checks”. THE law enforcement will give the green light for a resumption of traffic once the investigation is completed.
