Lucien Georgelin, best spread in France?

the essential
In a video posted on his social networks, the famous doctor Jimmy Mohamed went in search of the best spread. And the Lot-et-Garonne brand Lucien Georgelin has found its place in this list.

What if a Lot-et-Garonnaise spread was one of the best in ? In any case, this is the opinion of the famous doctor Jimmy Mohamed. Formerly a columnist on RMC, he now hosts the show “Ca va much better” on RTL and presents “Le Mag de la santé” on France 5, formerly hosted by Michel Cymes for 20 years. He also shares fun content on his social networks, where he gives some health advice to his 3.5 million subscribers.

In one of his videos published on December 22 on TikTok, Jimmy Mohamed went in search of the best spread. He compared three different ones: Nutella, Bonne Maman and… Lucien Georgelin. The jam maker based in Virazeil therefore places itself alongside the two agri-food giants. And don't have to blush in the eyes of the doctor.

“It’s a little pride”

After presenting the first two competitors with an advantage for Bonne-Maman (more hazelnuts than Nutella and no palm oil), the doctor grabs a copy of the “ultra rich in hazelnut” range. which he describes as a “masterclass”. “There are 40% hazelnuts. We can see the difference with Bonne-Maman (20%) and Nutella (13%). The hazelnut is the first ingredient, unlike Nutella where it is the sugar. So obviously, per kilo, we can say that it costs less. But when you buy sugar, it’s not very interesting,” he explains.

The video, viewed nearly 450,000 times, is a great spotlight for the Lot-et-Garonnaise brand, two months after emerging from receivership. “I was told about it during New Year's Eve. It's a little bit of pride, it shows that we are committed to making quality, French products. Jimmy Mohamed is someone recognized. It’s nice that he speaks well of us like that,” smiles Lucien Georgelin, boss and founder of the eponymous company.

Lucien Georgelin Sunday on TF1

For an episode of the series of “Grands reportages” entitled “The fight of the irreducible!”, the TF1 teams went to the Lot-et-Garonnaise company. “I am proud that TF1 was interested in our company because it took us a year to get back on track with everything we did to save money,” says its boss Lucien Georgelin. It will be broadcast this Sunday, January 5 at 1:45 p.m. just after the news. Another episode will also be available a week later at the same time.
