2.7 million euros, including 1.8 million for viticulturethis is the total of reliefs supported by the State in order to help farmers who have suffered extreme weather conditions last year. These reductions relate to the property tax on undeveloped land properties.

Up to 65% loss

To estimate the amount of relief to be applied, the Departmental Directorate of Territories and the Sea (DDTM) carried out a survey to estimate loss rates, based on feedback from agricultural organizations.
Thus, were taken into account:

  • varying rates between 25% to 65% in 150 municipalities for vines;
  • rates from 40 to 56% in 47 municipalities for fruit trees.

No action has been taken on the side of farmers. The beneficiary owners will be informed of the amount of the relief obtained in the coming days by receipt of a “relief notice”. For owners paying monthly or withdrawn at maturity, the relief will be automatically refunded. Finally, for those who have not made any payment, only the difference between the amount of the property tax and the relief will have to be paid. It is specified that owners will have to pass on the relief to their farmers who can contact their town halls to find out the amount.
