This is the first feminicide of the year 2025. Isabelle, 51 years old, mother of two children aged 24 and 19, was killed by her partner on New Year's Eve, on the night of December 31 to January 1 2025 in Hautmont, in Hauts-de-France. The victim was discovered in one of the family bedrooms, his body covered in bruises.
It was the husband himself who called the police indicating “having made a big mistake” after an argument against the backdrop of adultery. The Valenciennes public prosecutor's office requested his placement in pre-trial detention. This seemingly united couple met at college. However, according to the Valenciennes prosecutor, he had made a report to the police station at the beginning of December because he thought his partner was cheating on him.
A version that surprises those close to him, like Jérôme, who especially remembers a former welder who no longer had a job, undermined by his car problems. “He had a bit of an argument with his wife and daughter, but I never saw any violence. He told me “Jérôme, I'm going to do something stupid” but for me, my interpretation was more that he was going to blame himself. I have never heard anything bad about Madame. On the contrary, it was his first love.”
