The chapter of 2024 is closed, time for 2025. For this new year, several appointments are to be noted for the coming months. Overview.
> Finally the public inquiry for D943. A year late, the D943 doubling project will begin in 2025. The public inquiry will begin on January 20, to last one month. The municipalities of Chambourg-sur-Indre, Azay-sur-Indre, Reignac-sur-Indre, Courçay and Tauxigny-Saint-Bauld are concerned. The project plans two sections with two dual carriageways, between Chambourg-sur-Indre and Azay-sur-Indre and between Courçay and Cormery. Work will begin with the first section, at best in the second quarter of 2026. For the rest, we will have to wait until 2030.
> Start of work on the Aerazur wasteland. After many years lying fallow, this old factory which faces the town hall of Beaulieu-lès-Loches will experience a new life. A year of work is expected, with partial demolition starting in February. The rest will welcome craftsmen and artists, a pedestrian path will be created to “open the view” towards the canal.
> The Bodin's return to the cinema. In April 2024, the center of Preuilly-sur-Claise was in turmoil. For a week, Les Bodin's, the comic duo from Touraine-Berrichon, and a film crew had installed their cameras there for their next film The Bodin's are going into a tailspin. The feature film will be released in theaters on March 19 and will talk about the desertification of the countryside against the backdrop of the installation of an industrial group.
> The reopening of Naturéo. Annus horribilis for the Naturéo aquatic center. After unpredictable weather during the summer which affected attendance, damage and then a chemical leak led the operator Récréa and the community of municipalities to temporarily close the site. At the worst of times, when a long closure for work was scheduled from mid-December. For swimmers, you will have to wait until spring before taking a dip in the pools again.
> The future of La Baillaudière will take shape. In 2025, we will still be talking about waste. For the Baillaudière landfill site, in Chanceaux-près-Loches, this coincides with the opening of the public inquiry hoped for for the ecopole project led by the operator, the Paprec group. A change which aims to recover waste to turn it into energy. A project strongly contested by local residents for the nuisances that will result from it. The public inquiry will allow them to express themselves as they already did during the first public meetings.
> The end of the work on rue Saint-Jacques. After a break for the end-of-year holidays, work on rue Saint-Jacques will resume in mid-January. This is the continuation of the repair of the sidewalks which began in mid-November 2024, which will precede the renewal of the wearing course, by the Departmental Council, later in the year. The objective, for the City of Loches, is for the work to be completed by Easter. Unlike the first phase (renewal of the water and sanitation network), traffic will not be interrupted but will take the form of an alternation.
One year before the municipal elections
2025 will (normally) mark a break after a busy electoral year in 2024. But one year before the municipal elections of March 2026, politics will not offer a respite and declarations of candidacy will follow one another over the next twelve months in South Touraine.
In Loches, Marc Angenault leaves doubt, last October he admitted still weighing the pros and cons. Will the reflection be successful in 2025? Answer in the coming weeks, with a first meeting on Saturday January 11, for his wishes to the Lochois.
