Kristina Arduino, of Lithuanian origin, and Géry Arduino left to settle in Quatre-Routes-du-Lot, commune of Le-Vignon-en-Quercywhere they opened a unique business in the north of the Lot.

A life project in the Lot

“We came to the Lot, for the interest that the building in which we are installed in today represents for us, corresponding to our needs and our projects”, underline Kristina and Géry Arduino, parents of three children aged 6 years old. , 8 years and 10 years.

In Bordeaux, Kristina was already working as a stylist and craftsman, specializing in fabric, household linens, interior decoration and other custom creations.

However, she was unable to launch her business due to a lack of suitable premises to set up her workshop, the exhibition space and their living space on the same site, at affordable prices.

This type of activity, otherwise known as applied arts or artistic crafts, requires a significant amount of space, both in the workshop and for storing fabrics and setting up exhibitions of creations. Most of the designs Kristina designs are printed on fabric. It also offers a clothing alteration and personalized tailoring service; creation on demand, installation of a pattern, alterations and repairs of clothing. His “handmade” pieces stand out from industrial and standardized production. Finally, at Mme Arduino, it is possible to buy fabric by the meter, to have tablecloths made… The store has a haberdashery corner and should even soon open an art supplies department, including most of the material used by painters. A coworking space is planned on the upper floor of the store.

A move driven by price and space

After fruitless research in Bordeaux, the couple started prospecting online.

“Everything we visited in Bordeaux was overpriced! » notes the young couple. Nothing that suited Kristina's needs at a reasonable price. Hence their prospecting on the internet with her husband. They start hunting for the classified ad for the sale of a spacious building with accommodation that can meet their expectations. And the rare pearl, they unearth it in Quatre-routes-du-Lot, commune of Le-Vignon-en-Quercy.

“The sale of this large building, formerly called Maison Vauzou, corresponded to what we were looking for,” they declare.

For people who cannot make the trip to Quatre-Routes-du-Lot, it is possible to place an order via the internet

Kristina also plans trips to exhibitions and fairs.

Géry Arduino: a connected technical artist

As for Géry Arduino, technical artist, in Bordeaux he worked in the field of video game manufacturing for an English brand. His trip to Quatre-Routes-du-Lot has no impact on his activity, which is carried out mainly via the internet. “There was still one condition for us to be able to consider this move, which was to be able to have optical fiber, which is the case. At Quatre-Routes we are well equipped at this level, everything is going well! » says Mr. Arduino.

“All we need to do now is find a dentist…”
No regrets at having left the big city for a village in the Lot?

“Quite honestly, no regrets. One thing we are missing though, a dentist. For the rest, we don't feel like we have lost much of Bordeaux, once again, apart from the dentists!” Kristina and Géry Arduino tell us.
