If it has the advantage of transforming our landscapes into postcards, snow also has its share of inconveniences. This Wednesday, January 8, the departments of Nord and Pas-de-Calais are placed in orange warning for snow and icean alert which is not without consequences for everyday transport.
No school and interurban transport in the Hauts-de-France region
The information fell this Tuesday at the end of the day: the Hauts-de-France Region suspends school transport “including by small vehicle” and intercity transport by coach this Wednesday, January 8 due to weather conditions. The situation may return to normal on Thursday 9, “depending on changes in weather conditions”.
Disruptions to be expected on the TER network
It's difficult to know more before the first snowflakes fall. However, train and coach traffic in the north of the Hauts-de-France region risks being disrupted this Wednesday, January 8 in the evening and Thursday, January 9 in the morning.
Train cancellations and disruptions are therefore to be expected. Users are invited to keep informed on the TER Hauts-de-France or SNCF Connect website.
