The checks carried out by the Indre gendarmerie, on the night of December 31, 2024 to 1is January 2025, were announced at the start of the week. The Indre gendarmerie deployed, from midnight, more than thirty checks in all the territories of its companies around Issoudun, Le Blanc and La Châtre.
The gendarmes checked 535 vehicles and more than 580 people as part of requisitions taken by the public prosecutor. Prevention seems to have borne fruit: only six drivers were arrested while drunk. Five of them with a criminal blood alcohol level (more than 0.4 mg of alcohol per liter of exhaled air) and one driver with a criminal blood alcohol level of between 0.25 and 0.4 mg per liter of exhaled air.

A calm police zone also
On the outskirts of the Châteauroux police station, the night was also calm. Only a fire on a public road was reported and an unlicensed driver was arrested.
No accidents were reported during the night. Firefighters had to intervene early in the evening after a vehicle left the road with three occupants on board, including two minors. None of them were injured.
