It's not the first time. And unfortunately not the last either. An emergency department must still be regulated in the Gard. It is that of Alès hospital center.

Reception and admissions of the public to emergency rooms had already been reorganized during the holidays. Saturday 21, Sunday 22, and Thursday 26 December 2024, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. the next day. It's not over.

Until the end of the holidays

The hospital management communicates on new complicated periods: Thursday 2, Friday 3 and Sunday 5 January 2025 from 5 p.m. and until 6:30 a.m. the next day.

During this period, It is recommended that the population contact Center 15 beforehand. “The public who have not been subject to regulation presenting themselves to the emergency room will nevertheless be welcomed,” specifies the hospital center. It will be subject to on-site regulation with “possible reorientation” depending on its situation.

“Insufficient medical staff”

Vital emergencies remain provided by the Mobile Emergency Resuscitation Service (SMUR) d'Alès 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as part of the regulation by Center 15. Reception for pregnant women remains available 24 hours a day.

The reason given for this new period of regulation is always the same: “insufficient medical staff”. The efforts made to find replacement doctors did not pay.
