Implementation of specific measures for the holidays
From 4 p.m. this Tuesday, December 31 in Haute-Savoie and until 4 p.m. tomorrow afternoon, the possession and use of firecrackers or fireworks will be prohibited on public roads by prefectural decree, as will the distribution, sale and purchase of fuel to take away in cans as well as the transport and carrying of weapons. Note that in Savoie the consumption of alcoholic beverages in public on public roads will also be prohibited.

From Tuesday December 24, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday January 1, 2025 at 8:00 a.m., the following are prohibited:
• the purchase, sale, possession, transport and use of entertainment items of categories F2 and F3 appearing on the list established by the decree of December 17, 2021 from Tuesday December 31, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday 1st January 2025 at 8:00 a.m., the following are prohibited:
• the carrying and transport, without legitimate reason, of weapons, all categories combined, of ammunition and objects that could constitute a weapon, except for authorized persons in the exercise of their mission.
• the purchase and transport of acid, corrosive fuels, take-away fuels, flammable gases and all flammable or chemical products unless necessary duly justified by the customer, verified as necessary, with the assistance of the services of
police and gendarmerie.
• the consumption of alcoholic beverages in a group on the public highway outside of places reserved for this purpose as well as the transport and possession of alcohol, packaged in a glass or metal container, on the public highway, for the purposes of consumption on the
public highway, outside the places provided for this purpose.

Measures in Haute-Savoie by prefectural decree
In order to prevent any disturbance of public order, the prefect of Haute-Savoie has taken, as in previous years, regulatory measures on the occasion of the end-of-year celebrations.
Thus, by prefectural decree, are prohibited from Tuesday December 31, 2024 at 4 p.m. to Wednesday January 1 at

• the possession and use of firecrackers or fireworks on public roads, with the exception of
use by adults holding prefectural approval provided for in article 5 of the
decree no. 2010-580 of May 31, 2010 or the F4 T2 qualification certificate levels 1 or 2;
• the distribution, sale and purchase of take-away fuel in cans or other containers
transportable. Service station managers, particularly those with devices or
automated fuel distribution pumps, must ensure compliance with this
prescription ;
• the carrying and transport of weapons and objects which could constitute a weapon within the meaning of article 132
75 of the penal code. Persons authorized to do so are not subject to this prohibition.
