Ski jumping: the Oberstdorf competition for the Austrian Stefan Kraft
This Sunday late afternoon, more than 25,500 spectators gathered at the foot of the Schattenbergschanze in Oberstdorf (Germany) to attend the first of the four competitions of the 73rd Tournée des Quatre Tremplins ski jumping. In the German night, at the foot of the Allgäu mountains, the show was once again there.
If the Japanese Ren Nikaidowith a second jump placed at 142 meters, approached 1.5 meters from the old springboard record of Sigurd Pettersen, it was Stefan Kraft who showed himself the strongest. Flying 138 then 135.5 meters, he wins this Oberstdorf event and thus takes control of the Tour.
On the podium, he is followed by his compatriots Jan Hoerl (134.5 and 135 meters), at 3.5 points, and Daniel Tschofenig (131 and 140.5 meters), at 11.5 points. Pius Paschke (138 and 133.5 meters), at 13.8 points, Johann André Forfang (140 and 136 meters), at 16.2 points, and Gregor Deschwanden (140 and 136.5 meters), follow.
Note that Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal (134 and 135.5 meters), Karl Geiger (135 and 137 meters), Michael Hayboeck (134.5 and 129.5 meters), Halvor Egner Granerud (136 and 127 meters), Ryoyu Kobayashi (127 and 133.5 meters), Andreas Wellinger (129 and 132.5 meters) or Marius Lindvik (127 and 129 meters) seem to have already lost the 2024/2025 Tour.
First final on the Tour for Valentin Foubert
Further down the rankings, but still in the top 30, we find the Frenchman Valentin Foubert (125.5 and 128 meters). Losing his KO system against the American Tate Frantz (131 and 127.5 meters) in the first round, the Courchevellois still qualified for the finalhis first on the Tour, as the fifth and last drafted.
Twenty-eighth, he begins this 2024/2025 Four Springboard Tour superbly. She will travel, Tuesday and Wednesday, to Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany) for the traditional New Year's Day competition.
