The magic of Christmas rhymes with inclusion. As part of the “Crèches in our neighborhoods” initiative, the beneficiaries of the Center des Marmettes in Monthey have designed a one-of-a-kind crèche, made from recycled materials.

In Monthey, the Center des Marmettes has once again taken up the challenge of the “Crèches in our neighborhoods” initiative.. This institution, which supports deafblind people and people with associated disabilities, has designed an original crèche using recycled materials such as fabric, iron and wood. As part of this project led by the Catholic parishes of Monthey-Choëx, the beneficiaries of the creative workshops put all their know-how and creativity at the service of this achievement. An achievement with a symbolic touch: one of the wise men carries a blind man’s cane, echoing the theme of inclusion. Beneficiary at the home, Christiane returned to the creation process with her colleagues:

The crèche is one of more than thirty spread across the Monthey and Choëx districts. For the director of the French-speaking Foundation for deaf-blind people, participation in this annual initiative is obvious. Françoise Gay-Truffer:

The nativity scene is visible until Kings Day at the center’s workshop, located on avenue de la Gare.
