Missing You

Harlan Coben’s latest Netflix adaptation follows in the footsteps of “Stay Close,” “Fool Me Once” and “The Stranger,” drawing inspiration from his 2014 novel “Missing You.” Interestingly, the action was moved from New York to England (filming took place around Manchester and the North West of England), with a female detective (Rosalind Eleazar) finding herself thrust into the mysterious case of a missing woman. The twist? The main suspect is her former fiancé who left her without explanation – and who has been completely nowhere to be found since. If that doesn’t sound like the start of a gripping thriller to you, then we don’t know what is. The adaptation was written by Victoria Asare-Archer and directed by Nimer Rashed, with Jessica Plummer, Richard Armitage, Lenny Henry and Marc Warren in the cast. Coben is executive producer on this project, alongside Nicola Shindler, Richard Fee, Danny Brocklehurst and Asare-Archer. Netflix describes this story as being a combination of the author’s typical twists and surprises that will keep you in suspense until the end.

(Not to mention an underlying critique about the dangers of AI, presented in carefully animated form.)
