Every day, “DL” highlights a personality whose birthday it is and who takes stock of their activity, their commitments or their company. Today, “DL” wishes a happy birthday to Andrée Félix, volunteer for the France Alzheimer association. This Monday, December 30, she celebrates her 72nd birthday.
How is the France Alzheimer association in Dordogne doing?
The association is doing well. We have more than 300 members and around 70 volunteers with many new actions in the area. There is a commitment that is encouraging even if it is work. All volunteers receive initial training to talk to them about the illness from psychologists.
What actions are you taking to raise awareness about the disease?
From February, we will set up a relay stop in Saint-Pardoux-la-Rivière with art therapy workshops that we will also offer in Agonac. We always do a lot of caregiver training for people who still have sick people at home and also caregivers in nursing homes. We always intervene with a psychologist and a volunteer. There is a workshop that works, it is ping-pong which is done in Coulounieix-Chamiers. We also offer music therapy and “neuromove”. We are always at their disposal to listen to them so that they do not remain alone in the face of illness.
What can we wish you for your birthday?
Peace and serenity around us.
