It is time to end Danish hegemony. After three editions won by the Danes, the Men’s Handball World Championship returns in 2025, with a trio of host countries: Croatia, Denmark, Norway. If Denmark is logically the favorite, France remains a more than credible outsider for final victory. Beaten 34-29 in 2023, the French will be keen to take their revenge, especially since Mikkel Hansen’s teammates also came to capture gold in Paris this summer. The Blues know it: they are capable of beating this Danish team, as they did in the final of the European Championship in January 2024 (33-31 after extra time). Another repeat in Oslo next February? We hope so!

Even if the idea seems far-fetched, it is the big chance to try for 2025. Currently in 4th position in the French championship scorers ranking, the former Barcelona player clearly has a chance to play in the second half of the season. With a Bradley Barcola whose performance has fallen sharply in recent weeks, a Mason Greenwood who seemed to be in overdrive at the start of the season and a Jonathan David who could be distracted by his contractual situation, the PSG winger could well take his place on the podium, and perhaps even take the top step at the end of the season. More killer in front of goal than in previous years, Dembélé could also benefit from a lighter schedule due to the hypothetical premature elimination of Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League to benefit from all the freshness necessary to shine in France .
