The weather forecast for the coming days looks set to be very turbulent as several disturbances will affect France. Discover weather trends and forecasts.
For the next few days, unrest will return to France due to the passage of new depressions. The anticyclone will no longer be strong enough to protect us from these bad weather. But what to expect between rain, wind or even snow? Elements of response through these new lines that we offer you.
Thursday: cooling
For tomorrow Thursday, the weather conditions will become more and more disrupted. And for good reason, we have a disturbance that will cross us from north to south.
Initially, it will bring rain but by mid-afternoon at the latest (possibly from late morning), colder air will arrive. This could encourage the presence of flakes or even snowfall down to the plains between Champagne-Ardenne and Alsace.
However, nothing very significant and the outfit looks compromised below 400m. Still be careful, we cannot exclude locally sliding phenomena.
This risk of slippery roads will increase by the evening and night of Thursday to Friday over a good northern half: the presence of nighttime clearings will favor a drop in temperatures. The minimum temperatures should reach -2°C to 0°C on roads that are still damp following the day's precipitation.
For the southern half, the weather also looks worse with the passage of this disturbance during the afternoon and evening. Rain will come to the plains while snowfall will maintain the white coat present on the mountains.
Cold afterwards
Between Friday and Saturday, the weather conditions are expected to be wintery in France. Indeed, cold air will persist at altitude as will the presence of nighttime clearings.
In fact, minimum temperatures will be able to dip a little more easily during the evening and night from Friday to Saturday. Thus, in the Champagne plains, we will be able to observe values of around -7°C/-5°C. It will be the same in the direction of Lorraine. Towards the Vosges massif, -10°C is entirely possible, or even less in the deep valleys.
More broadly, frosts will be frequent in France with minimums of around -3°C to 0°C. Locally slippery phenomena can then be observed, such as a deposit of frost, for example.
Only the southwest quarter and the Mediterranean rim should stay away from this cold. Very mild values will be present towards the Basque Country with for example 10°C Saturday morning.
Agitation ensuite
From Sunday, the unrest will resume from the southwest/west. This will favor the passage of active disturbances with regular rains as well as a risk of gales.
A few cooler or even slightly cold periods remain possible but overall, mildness should gain ground after this new short winter break at the beginning of January.
