“I don’t want to talk. » A 31-year-old man was not very talkative during his trial for domestic violence in the presence of three minors. He appeared at Quimper court (Finistère), Thursday December 26, 2024.
The violence took place three days earlier in a small town in Bigouden country. Around 10 p.m., the police Pont-l'Abbé intervened after the victim took refuge with his neighbors. She was notably bitten on one hand. A doctor prescribed him five days of total incapacity for work. She was present in court this Thursday.
Two children in post-traumatic shock
His two children aged 10 and 12; and the gentleman's nephew, also 10 years old, for their part described “a fight, a shove”, said the president. A doctor at Quimper hospital diagnosed them with “post-traumatic shock”.
Everything happened when you grabbed one of Madame's children who intervened. An argument then broke out.
First episode of violence
The defendant also broke numerous objects at the victim's home. He had been living with her since the spring. This was the first violence, the latter told the gendarmes.
That day, the couple had finished their Christmas shopping and had been drinking. Two hours after his arrest, the individual still had 1.6 g of alcohol per liter of blood. “Yes, that’s probably a problem. But I don’t drink at work,” said this temporary worker in the building industry.
Recidivism
In court, he spoke of a difficult past. “One of his mistakes is wanting to get by on his own when he has never known a normal life,” argued his lawyer.
Problem: his client has 10 mentions in the locker, including four for violence against a spouse. “The gentleman is accustomed to doing this, with three different women,” noted the prosecutor.
The court followed its requisitionsone year in prison with continued detention, and one year with a two-year probationary suspension. The thirty-year-old finally contact ban with all the victims, and to appear at his partner's house.
