This Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the Espace des Trois Provinces in Brive la Gaillarde, the 2000s were in the spotlight. The “Hit Générations” evening, in the lively city, has apparently found its audience. Around 1,500 spectators were present on site to enjoy this event. “People want to sing, to move… Music is unifying. We need these evenings to let go of the pressure of the work week, of all the worries we have on a daily basis. It's a breath of fresh air for everyone”says Julie Josset, concert organizer and director of JCI Productions.
“Brive, it’s honestly a top 10 atmosphere in France”
To open the concert, Willy Denzey performed several titles from his discography, including the legendary “Le Mur du Son”, descending into the pit to sing and dance with the audience. “It was absolutely not planned”confides Julie. “But we adapt, we suspected that certain artists would try this kind of thing”. Subsequently, it was Génération Boys Band who came to ignite the stage of the Espace des Trois Provinces, with their covers, and in particular a 12-minute medley with the greatest hits of boy bands from the 90s-2000s.
Tribal King then took the stage, and continued to raise the atmosphere and temperature in the room. Coming off stage, the 2 artists performing the hit “Façon Sex” spoke about the atmosphere in Brive. “Frankly, the public was very enthusiastic”launches the duo. “They were very responsive, with kindness, so great. We had a really good time. Honestly, Brive is in the Top 10 atmosphere in France”.
The duo also looked back on their return to the music industry in 2019. “It’s passion that motivated us”says Anthony Sansault, one of the members of the duo. “For us, it ended in 2010, we ended up with a song called “Comme ça”. It was a bit weird, as if we hadn’t really come full circle, you know. We went our separate ways, we found each other, we made music out of passion, and we said to ourselves that it would be good to release it. We noticed that the music had changed in the meantime. the same way of working, of marketing… We saw the complexity of the industry now.”
Finally, the duo returned to their future projects. “Tours. A big tour, in particular, in 2026, called “I Gotta Feeling”. There is a first edition which has just ended. It's a big Zéniths tour, with 25-30 dates in preparation”announces the duo.
L5 and Yanns to close the evening
Subsequently, the public was able to enjoy a performance by the L5, who returned to sing their biggest songs, including “Alle les Femmes de ta Vie”. The public responded, which did not fail to amaze the 3 singers, Marjorie, Alexandra and Coralie. “It was really great, we didn’t expect that at all”the artists concede. “It's a small venue, compared to the festivals we did this summer. But really, we took a beating. We could already hear them before we went up, it was huge. Our title “All Women of your life”, a cappela that the audience sang… Often, there is a verse, possibly more… But here, we just had to hold out the microphone, it's a beautiful gift”say the singers.
To close the concert, Yanns also took the stage for a show lasting more than an hour, including his title “Clic Clic Pan Pan”, certified diamond disc. The evening will end around 11:45 p.m. Yanns will have held a signing session at the end of the show, in order to meet his fans, who came in large numbers to Brive.
