“It was a good choice”, in Nice, Eric Ciotti’s successful bet to ally with the RN

In Nice, the very controversial Éric Ciotti is leading in his constituency. Despite his alliance with the National Rally and the political storm caused within the Republicans, the outgoing deputy posted an insolent score on his territory, with nearly 43% of the votes. He is thus 13 points ahead of the candidate of the New Popular Front, and the candidate of the presidential majority.

“All this, we want more”

“Victory is a duty. Mobilize yourself”, calls Eric Ciotti to the voters. Marc and Gaël voted for the union of the rights. “We don’t want Macron anymore, that’s enough!”, exclaims Marc at the microphone of Europe 1. “After seven years of taxes, pension reforms, insecurity, all that, we want more. “It’s the final stretch, we have to mobilize fully,” he adds. “Nothing is decided so we must mobilize to block the far left and Macron. There is a risk of electoral manipulation as usual, and this manipulation risks in reality not taking into consideration the voice of the voters”, concludes Gaël.

In front of Eric Ciotti’s office in Nice, the supporters of the outgoing deputy denounce the idea of a republican front. “It seems a little unnatural. The notion of a republican front no longer means anything. It comes to overwhelm people and that suggests that there is a real political policy with arrangements,” notes a supporter of the candidate.

A good choice for voters

For Marine, who has always voted for Éric Ciotti, the results of this first round validate the strategy of the LR president. “It was a good choice for the right to regroup. I think that Bardella has brought a new breath of fresh air. He no longer scares the French,” she believes.

And, a little further on, this old Republican activist has a wish: “That the whole right comes together and that they seize the opportunity.” Voters will have the answer next Sunday.
