At 45, the man from Saint-Malo left Pontivy during the summer to take up his new assignment as deputy commander of the Lorient departmental gendarmerie company.

Married and father of three children, the captain joined the Gendarmerie in January 2000 as an auxiliary gendarme as part of his national service. He then passed the non-commissioned officer competition, spent ten years in the Baud-Locminé brigade, before becoming an adjutant in Guer-Coëtquidan. In 2017, he passed the officers’ competition. During his training, he was then deputy to the brigade commander of Bruz, near Rennes, then, from 2018 to 2021, acting commander in Liffré, also near Rennes and from 2021 to 2024 he commanded the autonomous territorial brigade of Pontivy.

In front of an audience of guests from the large Gendarmerie family including the president of Ud 56 and friends. The speeches for the occasion have begun. First of all, hierarchy obliges, it is up to the squadron leader Sylvain Giraud, commander of the departmental gendarmerie company of Pontivy to eulogize the departure, whose words are “dynamism, sense of organization, efficiency, cohesion , commitment” and to deliver a letter of congratulations from Colonel Aurélien Ardillier, commander of the Morbihan departmental gendarmerie group. Then, to Captain Jérôme Quanquoit to thank the guests, the company commander for his laudatory words, which he wanted to share with all the personnel who served under his orders. He also thanked all the partners of the Gendarmerie and his wife for her daily support.

After the speeches came the time to present the many gifts. After these emotional moments we were invited to drink a glass of friendship. On behalf of the National Union of Personnel and Retirees of the Morbihan Gendarmerie, we wish Captain Jérôme Quanquoit every success in his new command. We thank him for the attention he has paid to the Army’s retirees throughout these three years.
