LE SCAN SPORT – While fighting for victory at the Austrian GP this Sunday, Lando Norris and Max Verstappen had a collision, destroying their chance of victory.

What a duel Max Verstappen and Lando Norris offered us this Sunday on the Red Bull Ring track. It was on lap 64, while Norris had been trying to find an opening for several minutes, that the Briton threw himself to the outside of turn 3 to try to overtake the world championship leader. Max Verstappen then tried to defend his position and the two single-seaters then collided. Result? A puncture for both drivers which caused Norris to retire on arrival at the pits and propelled Verstappen to fifth place, after his stop. The Dutchman was then judged guilty of the incident and received a ten-second penalty, with no impact on his fifth place.

An incident that will benefit George Russel, then in third position, the Mercedes driver will fly towards an unexpected victory, the second of his career after that in Brazil in 2022. The podium is completed by the McLaren driver Oscar Piastri and the Spaniard of the Scuderia Ferrari Carlos Sainz.
