The Venansault tennis club (TCV) had a season full of events. “Every year, we try to renew ourselves by offering new things, while remaining a friendly and even family club. This year, we offered, outside of competitions, a lot of activities such as evenings dedicated to young people aged 11 to 17. We combined them with tennis challenges, games and a shared meal. An end-of-year event with a surprise mixed tournament, followed by a barbecue, was organized for adults. Finally, we offered a big end-of-season afternoon. More than 50 children took part,” says Pascaline Thinnes, the club’s communications officer.

New proposals for young people

Building on its momentum after this season, the club has come up with two new formulas for the start of the school year: first, fight-tennis, a 45-minute course combining tennis and weight training. A session led by the club’s instructor, Luc Bernard. Fight tennis is open to everyone, from 16 years old, regardless of physical level or tennis practice. It’s very dynamic and also very fun,” explains Pascaline Thinnes.

The other new feature is the opening of the TVC Academy, for young people aged 11 to 17: “The goal is to offer them three hours of training per week, with a complete program to perform well in competition: one hour of physical training to gain power and endurance and two hours of tennis training, focused on technical or tactical priorities and match situations.”
