A shooting occurred in Thionville this Sunday morning, leaving four victims. At present, one has died, three others are in a state of absolute emergency according to the public prosecutor’s office of the specialized interregional jurisdiction (JIRS) of Nancy.
Last night, around 1 a.m., in Thionville, while a wedding reception was being held for a hundred guests in a private room rented for the occasion, three hooded men, dressed in black, heavily armed, appeared in front of the entrance to the room and shot at people who were outside. Several dozen rounds of ammunition were fired. Four people were hit by bullets, said this Sunday, June 30, 2024, the deputy prosecutor of the JIRS of Nancy, Vincent Legaut.
At present, one has died, three others are in a state of absolute emergency. Two other people also suffered minor injuries, in particular due to shards of glass, added the magistrate.
The Thionville public prosecutor’s office has transferred responsibility to the public prosecutor’s office of the specialized interregional jurisdiction of Nancy. The investigation, entrusted to the Organized and Specialized Crime Directorate (DCOS) of the Interdepartmental Directorate of the National Police of Moselle (DIPN 57), continues under the classification of murder by an organized gang and attempted murder by an organized gang. At this stage, the motives for the shooting remain unknown.
