Thierry Neuville and Martijn Wydaeghe finished at 1:10.8, collecting 14 points in total for the Rally (6 at the end of Saturday, 3 on Sunday and a maximum of 5 in the Power Stage) to maintain a 15-point lead over Elfyn Evans (Toyota Yaris) at the WRC.

The Welshman took 2nd place in the Polish rally at 28.3 from Rovanperä. Frenchman Adrien Foumaux (Ford Puma) is 3rd at 42.7.

Louis Louka, teammate of Grégoire Munster who races under a Luxembourg license (Ford Puma), is 7th at 2:18.0.

Estonian Ott Tänak (Hyundai) was the fastest on Sunday’s four special stages and collected 11 points for the world championship. He had retired for the day on Friday, jeopardizing his chances of winning the rally. He set off again on Saturday, withdrew for the afternoon before returning to the start on Sunday.

At the world championship, Neuville has 136 points to 121 to Evans and 115 to Tanäk. However, the Belgian driver said he was “very disappointed” with his weekend.

Double reigning world champion Kalle Rovanperä was not scheduled for this Rally Poland. He replaced Frenchman Sébastien Ogier (Toyota Yaris) who was the victim of a road accident on Tuesday while reconnoitering the route. The Finn has chosen a limited programme this season in WRC.

The Polish Rally made its return to the world championship calendar, after seven years of absence. Thierry Neuville won the last edition in 2017.

The next meeting is scheduled in Latvia from July 18 to 21.
