The Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue Foundation (FUQAT) receives a donation of $500,000 from the Molson Foundation, which will be divided between the project of the new UQAT campus in Mont-Laurier and that of the interdisciplinary clinic in global health in Rouyn-Noranda.

The $200,000 allocated to the construction of the Mont-Laurier campus will allow the addition of 1,800 m² of surface area, thus optimizing the spaces, infrastructures and services shared with the Mont-Laurier College Centre.

“This major contribution represents a real recognition of the value and potential of our regional initiatives and the needs that emerge from them,” emphasized the director of the UQAT Foundation, Karine Gareau.

The projects supported by this donation are driven by the UQAT Foundation’s fundraising campaign Building the Future Now, which aims to raise $25 million over 5 years to support 16 projects spread across its anchor territories, namely Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Nord-du-Québec, Hautes-Laurentides and Montreal, totaling an investment of more than $160 million.
