The garnet site is progressing little by little.

Since the relegation to Ligue 2 occurred at the beginning of June after the play-off against Saint-Étienne, one thing seems certain in Metz: László Bölöni’s mandate will not be extended. If the decision no longer leaves the shadow of a doubt, it is slow to be formalized by the Garnets, since the Romanian does not intend to sit out the last twelve months of his contract so easily, he who is linked to the club until ‘in June 2025. This Sunday, the Lorraine Republican reveals that the separation procedure is indeed underway, but that it includes several preliminary interviews spaced out over time, before ending before the LFP legal committee, during the course of next week.

In other words: the formalizations will come when the administrative matters are settled. But Metz can be reassured on one point: the identity of its next coach has already been decided, it will be Stéphane Le Mignan. At the end of May, he left Concarneau after failing to keep Thoniers in Ligue 2 for their first season at this level of the competition. Quickly contacted by the Metz management, after the Habib Beye track, Le Mignan quickly responded favorably to the requests of the Mosellans, despite a brief interest from Lorient (who, in the meantime, caught Olivier Pantaloni in his nets). That’s already settled, while Pierre Dréossi and Bob Tahri have just left the club, and Frédéric Arpinon, recently arrived at the head of sports management, must now count on the overhaul of a workforce which will experience many of upheavals.

Summer promises to be long in Moselle.
