“The Sprint was a bit frustratingconfides Hamilton.
I was able to get close to Carlos Sainz’s Ferrari but I couldn’t challenge him. So we made some changes to the car after the Sprint and that helped.”

Improved balance and performance in Q3

The modifications made to the car improved its overall balance, which led to a better performance in Q3.

“We were able to improve his overall balance and that allowed us to take a step forward. My last lap in Q3 was decent even though my intermediate sector was a bit off. Fifth was better than what we managed in Sprint Qualifying, so overall it was a good day.”

Hamilton is optimistic about this afternoon’s race, hoping that the modifications made to his car will pay off: “The adjustments we made to the car should help us for the race, so I hope we have a better race pace than we showed today in the Sprint.”

Objective: overtake Sainz and aim for the podium

Aware of the importance of overtaking Carlos Sainz to have a chance of fighting for the podium, Hamilton is determined: “It will be important to overtake Sainz if we want to fight for the podium. Let’s see what we can do.”
