Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors are getting closer to a divorce. The 34-year-old winger will become a free agent and leave the San Francisco franchise this summer, after 13 seasons and four NBA titles. The Dallas Mavericks could benefit from this.
According to insider Marc Stein, there is mutual interest between Thompson and the last NBA finalist. Free agency opens this Sunday, June 30, and the two sides could try to reach an agreement on a contract.
Despite a career in decline, the winger finished the season with 38.7% 3-point success. Statistics that could do big damage alongside Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving.

But the Mavs are above the salary cap, and will have to find a solution to recruit him. Drafted 11th by Golden State in 2011, Thompson spent his entire career with the Warriors. A new challenge looms for him, at 34 years old.
