From a small town in Isère to the prestigious salons of the Republic: this is the destiny of a French shoe manufacturer, who has just won the call for tenders to provide shoes for certain Matignon staff.
Shoes for special occasions, ceremonies and receptions, but also models for men and women: these were some of the criteria imposed by the specifications. “We didn't have to be avant-garde, not too fashionable, but convey a certain elegance.”adds Olivier Richard, CEO of the Hardrige company. From ushers to drivers and staff, the contract provides for the supply of 300 pairs per year, at a price of around 110 euros per pair.
The small company that won the call for tenders is based in a village in Isère, where mountain shoes were once manufactured. Today, production is refocused on the high end. Providing the Matignon teams is seen as an achievement by the thirty or so employees. “Great pride” et “a reward” for Marie-Line Revol, designer. The manufacturing is carried out in a workshop in Portugal, and the conception and design developed in Isère.
