All-Star forward Paul George has signed with the Philadelphia 76ers from the Los Angeles Clippers.

Rear Klay Thompson (ex-Warrior) was heading to the Dallas Mavericks, several American media outlets announced on Monday.

Paul George, 34, has signed a four-year contract with the Sixers for $212 million, the same media outlets write. After five years with the Clippers, he is expected in Pennsylvania as the third element of a new ‘Big Three’, which he will form with center Joel Embiid and guard Tyrese Maxey.

In addition to the arrival of Paul George, the Sixers also extended Tyrese Maxey, who averaged 25.9 points and 6.2 assists last season. Maxey is eligible for the maximum five-year, $204 million contract.

Also on the market, ‘sniper’ Klay Thompson, whose departure from the Golden State Warriors was confirmed on Sunday, has agreed with Dallas for a three-year lease, with the third optional for him. The contract would be worth $50 million, according to ESPN. Thompson’s departure marks the end of an era at the Warriors, where he had played since 2011 alongside Stephen Curry, with whom he won four NBA titles.

Record contract

Jayson Tatum (26 years old), crowned NBA champion with the Boston Celtics two weeks ago, will sign a five-year contract estimated at 314 million dollars, report the ESPN channel and The Athletic in the middle of ‘free agency’, the official period for certain negotiations and transfers. This would be a record contract for the NBA.
