In a press release published on June 27, the Saillant Group announced the appointment of its co-president, Mr. Alexandre Saillant, as recipient of the 2024 CADA Laureate award in the Commercial Innovation category.
Groupe Saillant is a group of several dealerships that has been operating since 1995. This family business in the Quebec region focuses more on more economical brands such as Toyota, Subaru and Hyundai, but since May 2024, it has made the bridge to the sale of luxury vehicles by acquiring Volvo of Quebec.
The Canadian Automobile Dealers Association (CADA) asked independent judges from Western University’s Ivery Business School to select the winners based on several criteria. For the Business Innovation category specifically, judges evaluated the finalists on the basis of organizational development, increased company revenue, competitive positioning, effectiveness and responsiveness, and development and learning.
It should also be noted that finalists cannot nominate themselves to win the award. This task instead falls to other industry members outside the finalists’ organization.
The 2024 CADA Laureate Award is therefore a great honour for the recipients, as Mr. Saillant explains: “I am very proud and grateful to have had the chance to win this award. For me, it is a great honour in my career that motivates me to always take our company further and to innovate in the automotive field. I am also very proud of all the employees of the Saillant Group, because this is an award that above all highlights the excellence of an entire team.”
The 2024 Cada Laureate Awards have accumulated hundreds of nominations from over 3,400 automotive dealerships across Canada. Through its acquisition of the Volvo dealership in Quebec City and its overall development, Groupe Saillant and its co-president have stood out from the competition to win this honour.
