Exhibition at the town hall, Khemmis and Royal Thunder at the Secret Place, Montpellier Dance at the Opéra Comédie or Free Shows in La Grande-Motte, discover our selection of outings for this Monday July 1, 2024 in Montpellier and the surrounding area.
“The Intruders” – Randa Maroufi
Exposition. The exhibition shows everyday scenes photographed in public spaces occupied only by women. These images, at first glance documentary, turn out to be out of step with reality. The meticulously crafted staging and cinematic aesthetic contribute to this ambiguity. The artist creates fictions from concrete situations.
> Until July 27 at Montpellier town hall, 1 place Georges Frêche in Montpellier. FREE ENTRANCE.
Khemmis + Royal Thunder
Concert. Khemmis is a heavy-doom band with a traditional recipe while bringing a modern sound to its compositions. Royal Thunder is an American hard rock band that is influenced by classic rock of the 90s and adds progressive, psychedelic and grunge elements to it.
> This Monday, July 1st at 7 p.m. at Secret Place, 25 rue Saint-Exupéry, ZI La Lauze in Saint-Jean-de-Védas. Advance sale €20, on site €23. Contact at 09 64 00 87 11.
Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Radouan Mriziga
Montpellier Dance. In “Il Cimento dell’Armonia e dell’Inventione”, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Radouan Mriziga explore together The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi, this musical piece from the classical repertoire that became a “hit” that ended up losing its effect by becoming like pop music, so much is it part of our collective memory.
> This Monday, July 1st and Tuesday, July 2nd, at 8 p.m. at the Opéra Comédie, Place de la Comédie in Montpellier. From €10 to €40. Montpellier Danse.
Free shows: “Are we always right?”, Fred Blin
Clown show. Fred Blin’s One-Man Show. Decked out in clogs, a black wig and very roughly applied lipstick, he makes a spectacular entrance on stage, warning that there will be some long-winded moments and some muddles. The rest is disconcerting but, in reality, perfectly mastered.
> This Monday, July 1st at 9 p.m. at the Palais des Congrès de La Grande-Motte, 192 avenue Jean Bène. From 10 years old. Free entry, limited places. Festival Spectacles en liberté.
