Stade Français loans Hugo Zabalza to US Montauban Sapiac for next season – Quinze Ovalie

The scrum half Hugo Zabalza will wear the colors of US Montauban Sapiac next season.

Stade Français Paris decided to loan their young player to give him more playing time. This season, Zabalza has only played five games with Stade Français due to injury.

A boost for Montauban

Zabalza, 24, will bring his experience to Montauban in Pro D2, a championship he knows well having played with Vannes and Bayonne.

Despite a complicated season with little playing time, he shone during his appearances, notably in the Champions Cup against Sale Sharks and Leicester Tigers.

Need play time

This loan is above all an opportunity for Zabalza to regain playing time and continue to progress. In Montauban, he will be able to accumulate valuable minutes on the pitch and show his full potential. Stade Français hopes to see him return even stronger.

Looking back on his career

Trained at St Paul Les Dax and Aviron Bayonnais, Hugo Zabalza joined Stade Français last summer from Union Bordeaux-Bègles (UBB). His promising start to the season was hampered by an injury, limiting his impact on the pitch. This loan to Montauban is a real chance for him to relaunch his career and prove his worth.

This loan is a win-win situation: Stade Français allows its young player to gain experience, and US Montauban welcomes a talented and motivated scrum-half for the coming season.
