David Guetta likes to perform in his country. “Every time I play in France, I experience a special emotion. I’m shaking as if it were my first concert,” he explained before his concert on Saturday evening at the prestigious Château de Chambord.

The DJ also took the opportunity to express his surprise at not having been called for the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games on July 26.

One of the most listened to artists in the world

“If you have the answer, you’re going to give it to me. Because I didn’t understand at all. On a global level, I’m still between the 4th and 15th most listened to artist in the world, not a DJ artist,” said David Guetta, 56, before the giant concert. “To give you an idea, Beyoncé must be 40th or 50th. But no one called me. And yet I’m French and I love France. That’s how it is!” he added.

Only about ten people know the exact scenario of the spectacle of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, which will last 3 hours and 45 minutes and which will begin at 7:30 p.m. and intends to “break the codes” by taking place for the first time outside a stadium, according to the Organizing Committee of the Games.

An eclectic soundtrack

The ceremony’s soundtrack includes creations by musical director Victor Le Masne, mixing pop, symphony orchestra, choirs and electro loops typical of the “French Touch”. It will also draw from “other registers”, according to its designer Thomas Jolly, who reveals nothing but for whom “France is at the same time Jul, Édith Piaf or even Natalie Dessay”.

While waiting to learn more about the July 26 ceremony, David Guetta was able to console himself in front of nearly 30,000 people in Loir-et-Cher. As part of the third edition of the “Chambord Live” festival, shortly after 10 p.m., the 56-year-old DJ started his show with his hits including Sexy Bitch, Memories or Satisfaction, a remix by Benny Benassi, with impressive visual and pyrotechnic effects, generating enthusiasm from the crowd. Around 11 p.m., however, the rain began to appear, with the public coming out with umbrellas and raincoats.
